Celebrities Spotted In Roger's Luxury Limo 22 July 2009
Tomorrow Mary Wilson of the sixties black all-girl band, The Supremes arrives at Bristol Airport from Newark. And Travelstar will be there to meet & greet her, take her to BBC Bristol for an interview, and onto the Royal Crescent Hotel where she’s staying for four nights. On Saturday, Travelstar will be running her around to various engagements in Bath and on Sunday, we’ll be meeting Radio 2’s Paul Gambaccini at the Station, and then collecting Miss Wilson from the Royal Crescent to go to the Assembly Rooms where she will officially open an exhibition of The Supremes stage dresses and other clothes worn by them during the height of their fame.
Also, for the last six months, Travelstar have been selected to chauffeur Paul Martin of BBC 2’s ‘Flog it! Programme around the UK. Mr Martin is making a new show for the Channel, due to go to air in September on prime-time TV. It’s called ‘Trust me – I’m a Dealer’ and some Bobsters have been helping in the making of the programme, and may well appear in it!!! Maybe those definitely in the show will tell you all about it.
Following on from this successful work for BBC 2’s Production Company, Gogglebox Entertainment, Travelstar’s Roger Stratton is being asked to put together a package to drive Paul to all his engagements for ‘Flog it!’ for the next Season. Filming starts in the Autumn, and will mean Travelstar will be organising all his transportation needs for around 200 days over a nine month period.
Finally, Travelstar’s Roger Stratton, and Graham Jones of Logistics Planning are looking into the possibility of a business liaison involving the skills and experience of these two ‘old timers’. Graham has considerable experience in the organisation of the delivery of freight, i.e. logistics. Roger has a need, along with other chauffeurs all over the UK, to reduce costs and carbon emissions. We’re exploring whether a new company could be started that would organise return trips for chauffeurs to overcome the problem of returning from air and seaports with empty vehicles.

Blast from the Past
Imagine my surprise when Colin Harrison handed out some lovely brochures he had designed for Padworth College in Berkshire. Years ago the school was founded by my cousin Angela and her husband Guy who ran it successfully for many years until their retirement!

COUSINS REUNITED
Once upon a time Nina met a friend from her village book group for a coffee in Devizes. She told me her husband had just helped to set up a new executive car service and that she had been roped in to help with the marketing! I "introduced" them to Roger from Travelstar UK. Not only are they now doing business together but it turns out they are distant cousins!

VALUABLE INFORMATION
A client in Devon which is applying for permission from the local authority to provide dry dock services to the local fishing fleet to save boats travelling hundreds of miles to the nearest existing dry dock. Richard Bromley of Ryeden Environmental Consultancy provided very useful statistics to illustrate the substantial reduction in carbon emissions that would result from a local facility. Elliott York Associates has since been retained to provide financial advice.

Succesful Business Referral
I recently had an opportunity to refer one of my business coaching clients to a fellow BOB member (Denise Ward of Credit Control Services) as they really needed help with collecting outstanding debts.
Denise has really speeded things up for them. They are a rapidly growing business so keeping on top of cashflow is especially important. In fact, the improvement in cash collection has even meant that my client can repay some of their directors' loans which makes them really happy.
Well done, and thanks Denise!
